Last year, I embarked on a one-year "blessing blog" in order to become more aware of what I have to truly be thankful for in my life, both big and small. It turned out to be very fulfilling, and once I got started I couldn't stop. Now, I do my daily recordings in a plain spiral bound notebook. And as you said, even on days that I don't think there's anything to really call a blessing, something always comes to mind if I just stop and really think. Both in blog and printed form, the process has kept me grounded in what really matters and made me more aware of the little things in life that I used to always take for granted.

When I find a calendar/planner that I really like, I wait to see if they will go on sale (I hate to pay full retail on anything). Then I buy a couple of them at the reduced price. Since I have discovered that many times, the particular style may not be produced the next year. I am not beyond modifying the numbers on the days so that I don't have to save the volume for seven years. A classic example of this was a really nice literary desk planner that Barnes and Noble sold a few years ago. Then they stopped offering that one. I liked it enough that having one with "adjustments" was worthwhile.

Have you seen what this remarkable lady does with her large daily Moleskine planners? http://www.flickr.com/photos/ann-d/ I would love to be able to do that. I'm starting small with my Moleskine Extra Small Daily diary & doodles / sketches

Janet Frame ironically also gave me A NOTE BOOK ,as did her sister JUNE ,to me a note book has always meant more than a doll or toy as well ,because in it one can voice their feelings or create a better life by writing and dreaming and using ones imagination.Janet did that and i followed in her footsteps :-) ( literally )

Wow, that will be our next movie to watch. I love stories of people with disabilities conquering life, & I'm looking forward to the notebook part, as well. I love notebooks and pens, too.
