Paperblanks Baroque Ventaglio Journal Collection
Travel back to a time when opulence and excess prevailed with Paperblanks’ Baroque Ventaglio collection. The ventaglio (fan) binding takes its inspiration from the French gold-tooled binding style, à la fanfare, which was popular in France and England in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries.
Elaborate gilt work beams across the leather covers, featuring filigree fans in the corners and an ornate rose window at their centers. Much has been written about the symbolism of rose windows as expressions of human aspiration toward wholeness and coherence. The play of light that passes through the glass panes is meditative, while the complex patterns invite contemplation.
Let the intricate designs in Paperblanks’ Baroque Ventaglio collection carry you away.
