More information about the Author
Marcel Proust (1871–1922) wanted to be a writer from the start and beside a short stint in the army and general poor health that is what he did. He was not interested in holding down a job much to the chagrin of his father and was extremely close to his mother. He lived with his parents until they passed away. In his own time Proust was known as a bit of a snob lacking discipline, but he doubled down toward the end of his life locking himself in his bedroom for three years to finish his magnum opus.
