More information about The Bronte Sisters:
The Bronte Sisters (early 1800s- mid 1850s) were four British authors who lived in Yorkshire moors of England. Originally starting out by writing poetry under the pen-names of Currer, Ellis and Action Bell. The three sisters worked their way up in the literary world, by their twenties, the Bronte sisters had all published novels, including the English literary classics Jane Eyre, Agnes Grey and Wuthering Heights. However just as the Bronte sisters careers seemed as they were about to take off- Branwell, Emily and Anne all died from Tuberculosis. The oldest sister, Charlotte wrote two more novels before contracting and dying from the same disease in 1985. Even though the Bronte sisters died young, their legacy in our culture continues.
