A highly celebrated English fantasy illustrator, Froud was born in 1947 and attended Maidstone College of Art in the southeast of England. He lives and works in Devon with his wife Wendy, who is also a fantasy doll maker and their son Toby is a fellow master puppeteer and creature maker. For over 35 years, Froud has been regarded as the preeminent faerie artist in the world and an authority on faeries and faerie lore. Paperblanks Faerieland Pencil Case is sure to inspire some writing magic.
Drawing inspiration from the gnarled shrubbery of England’s windswept moorlands, Froud is best known for being the mad genius behind Jim Henson’s film The Dark Crystal, and for illustrating such bestsellers as Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book. His books have sold over 8 million copies and his film designs have won many awards. The cover depicts a scene from his 2007 work Brian Froud's World of Faerie. Brian is currently creating a Netflix prequel for Henson's The Dark Crystal.
