Paperblanks Special Editions Dumas 150th Anniversary Document Folder 12.5 x 9 Inch
Celebrating the 150th anniversary of the great lion of French literature, Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870), Paperblanks is honored to release this Special Edition series featuring a handwritten draft of The Count of Monte Cristo.
A novelist and playwright, Dumas was a prominent figure within the Romantic movement. He was known for his historical novels of high adventure, and The Count of Monte Cristo (1844–1845) and The Three Musketeers (1844) were two of his most celebrated works. By the end of his career, Dumas had published over one hundred thousand pages. His former home is now a Museum and where you can find the original manuscripts.
Dumas was said to be the most generous of men as well as the most self-involved. As well as living a lavish lifestyle, Dumas traveled often, spending time in Belgium, Russia and Italy before returning to France in 1864. The Count of Monte Cristo takes place in France, Italy and the islands of the Mediterranean during the years 1815 to 1839 – the era of the reign of Louis-Phillippe and the period before Napoleon returned to power following his exile.
With the handwritten draft of this French classic on the front cover, and on the back an illustration of the prison in which the Count was jailed, your ideas will be itching to be set free with this Special Edition design.
